What is Sub-Engineer/ Electrical ?
Sub Engineer is an entry-level supervisory cadre post in the Power Sector Companies such as TRSNCO, GENCO, DISCOMs within the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
LATEST UPDATE The nomenclature for this post is changed as Junior Engineer within Andhra Pradesh Power Sector Companies since 2019.
As per APSEB Service Regulations adopted by the both states companies and as amended from time to time, the post of Sub Engineer/Junior Engineer falls under Engineering Services (ES) Establishment and classified as Class-III Service within the board. This is equivalent to Group-2 post within state government.
As per IPC Section 21, any posts under PSUs doesn't fall under Gazzeted Category, hence Sub-Engineer/Junior Engineer is a Non-Gazzeted Post.
The post of Sub-Engineer, abbreviated as SBE is a highly sought after post by diploma holders in Electrical Engineering.
Within the society as well, the level of respect, reception for the post of Sub-Engineer is much higher. Hence, even parents aspire their children must crack this exam.
What is the salary of an Sub Engineer/Electrical?
The salary of a regular govt. employee has the following components:
EARNINGS:-
Basic Pay
Dearness Allowance (DA) (as a % of Basic Pay, revised every January & July)
House rend Allowance (HRA) (as a % of Basic Pay)
Other Allowances such as Medical, Conveyance, CCA (City Compensatory Allowance ) etc.
GROSS SALARY = 1 + 2+ 3 + 4
DEDUCTIONS:-
Professional Tax @ Rs. 200/-
Medical Scheme Deduction
eEPF Contribution (12.5% of Basic+DA)
Income Tax
Other recoveries, deductions like Loans, LIC policy etc
TOTAL DECUCTIONS = 5 + 6+ 7 + 8+ 9
NET SALARY = GROSS SALARY - TOTAL DEDUCTIONS

By Promotion from O&M, Accounts, P&G Cadres after obtaining diploma qualification while in service after obtaining NOC.
